Kim brings broad and deep experience to Cornell.

Prior to joining Cornell University Press she founded and worked at MeanLine Publisher Services, consulting for a variety of university presses. For the past thirteen years, she has prepared the Annual Operating Statistics Report for the Association of University Presses—a report considered to be one of the most timely, robust, and reliable benchmarking tools in the industry. Prior to this, she was Business Manager, Marketing Manager, and Associate Director at Northwestern University Press. Along with Nancy L. Maron, Christine Mulhern, and Daniel Rossman, she is the author of, “The Costs of Publishing Monographs; Toward a Transparent Methodology,” (2016). Kim has a BA in Economics and Slavic Languages and Literature from Northwestern University, and an MM in Economics and Finance from the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern.

Kim is also adjunct faculty at George Washington University, where she teaches master’s level courses in finance and management in their Publishing Studies program. This varied experience lends her a detailed and thorough knowledge of the opportunities and challenges faced by the scholarly publishing community, and we are extremely fortunate to have her on our team.
