It is my guiding belief that people want to read the incredible work our authors produce and that we, in marketing and sales, should do everything we can to make sure as many people as possible buy, access, and read our books. Creativity, innovation, and pioneering marketing campaigns are what drive me to succeed. I love trying new things, even when they don’t work! Outside of my career, my history PhD considered the role of popular music in WWII, thus hooking me into the power of message; I love soccer (Arsenal fan); and being out in nature and on the water with my wife (Hilary).

I believe that there’s no stronger force for peace, intelligence, and empathy than well-written books. I have dedicated myself to highlighting our innovative works of literature and scholarship and am proud to share these resources with as many people as I can. After interning at Sage House during undergrad and participating in the Mellon University Press Diversity Fellowship at the University of Chicago Press, I officially joined Cornell University Press’ marketing team in August 2021. Whether its working on my own writing, playing Dungeons and Dragons, or immersing myself in audio dramas, I’m nearly always immersing myself in stories.

As Subsidiary Rights Manager for Cornell University Press, I see firsthand how truly global our audience is. (Our books have been translated into nearly 50 languages.) In 1999, after five years at the Press, I moved to North Carolina and began working offsite. I love to snow ski, travel with my husband and our dog Jake, and cheer loudly for Wake Forest University (Go, Deacs!).

Working alongside my creative colleagues in the Cornell University Press marketing team, I act as an advocate for the authors of Cornell University Press to ensure that their research, wisdom, and books are circulated as widely as possible to the scholarly world and beyond. When I’m taking a break from changing the world one book at a time, I enjoy playing music with my trusty saxophone, going for mountain biking and hiking in the woods, and adventurously exploring everything under the sun with my wife and ten-year-old son.

Focusing on building relationships is fundamental to my work. Whether in connecting authors and readers or between colleagues on a shared goal, I seek to accomplish these goals with clarity, compassion, and inclusivity in mind. Before my time at CUP, I worked as acquisitions assistant at University of Pennsylvania Press and as communications manager at the ExCITe Center at Drexel University. Outside of publishing, I have served as board member and social media volunteer with the youth-centered music organization Girls Rock Philly. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Immaculata University. I enjoy spending free time riding my bike with friends, collaborating on dance projects, and taking care of my cats.

I joined Cornell University Press in March 2019. As a graduate of Ithaca College with a B.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications and a minor in English, the combination allowed for focuses in structured market strategy and indulgent explorations into the pages of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The only way to make sense of the two seemingly polar areas of study was to land here at the Press, where I can effectively strategize how best to share important stories. I love collaborating, adventuring, listening to Carol King, and swimming in Ithaca, NY.

As an avid reader passionate about the sharing of knowledge, scholarship, and information, I am delighted to be working with the inspiring books published through Cornell University Press. Through the creative and collaborative work of the marketing department, I assist in highlighting and promoting the incredible work of our authors. Before joining the marketing department at CUP, I worked as the copywriting assistant for McGill-Queen's University Press in Montreal. I hold a MA in English, which focused on mad scientists in nineteenth-century science fiction, and when not at work, I love discovering new foods, going hiking and exploring, and reading the day away.
