Privacy Policy

Cornell University Press recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of all information provided by users of our website and have created the following policy guidelines:

What information do we collect and how do we use it?

When ordering from our site, we require your name, email address, mailing address, credit card number, and credit card expiration date. This allows us to process and fulfil your order and to notify you of your order status

When you sign up for services like email alerts and newsletters, we just need an email address in order to send requested information. To unsubscribe from any newsletter, simply hit the 'unsubscribe' link provided in each message you receive from our webhost, GiantChair, Inc.

How do we protect your personal information?

We use the latest encryption technology to keep your personal information safe. All your ordering information including your name, address, and credit/debit card number is encrypted using a secure server for maximum security. Credit card transactions are processed by a third-party financial institution, Authorize.net, a CyberSource company that is fully compliant with the latest Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). Authorize.net receives your credit card number and other personal identifying information purely to verify the credit card numbers and process transactions; Authorize.net then sends an authorization code, not your personal information, to Cornell University Press so we can finalize your order.Your card and billing information cannot be read en route to our ordering system, nor does Cornell University Press store your credit card information.
